Privacy policy
Itin is an app for planning trips together. This policy explains what we collect, who can see it, who we share it with, and how to delete it. In short: your trips are private to the people on them, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Your profile: the name, handle, bio, profile photo and cover photo you choose.
Your trips
- What you add to a trip: its name, dates, days, cities, and each item's details (names, times, addresses, booking confirmation numbers, costs, links, notes and photos).
- Your hearts ("Want to go"), stars ("Favorites"), your theme for each trip, and the published itins you save.
- Who's on each trip and their role (owner, editor or viewer).
We don't collect your device's location, contacts, or advertising identifier, and we don't use analytics or advertising tools.
Who can see it
- Your trips are visible only to the people on them. The owner invites people with an invite code and chooses whether they can view or edit. People on a trip can see how many of them hearted each item, but not who. Your stars are only ever visible to you.
- Published itins. If a trip's owner publishes it to Explore, people signed in to Itin can see its name, cover, number of days, each day's cities, and each item's name, type, photos and an approximate map location (to about 1 km; hotels are never shown). They never see confirmation numbers, costs, notes, addresses, links, dates or times, or who else is on the trip. Anyone signed in can copy a published itin's public parts into their own trips, without its photos. A copy shows the itin's name and its author's name as they were when it was copied.
- Your profile (name, handle, bio and photos) is visible to people signed in to Itin.
- Photos are stored at web addresses that include a long random code. They can't be guessed or browsed, but anyone who has a photo's exact address can open it.
Who we share it with
We use a few service providers to run Itin. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores your account, trips and photos, and handles sign-in.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails, so it receives your email address.
- Apple: when you add a city or an address, the app sends that text to Apple's location service to find it on the map and look up its time zone. Maps in the app are Apple Maps.
- Anthropic: when you use Import, the app sends what you paste or attach (text, PDFs and screenshots) to Anthropic's Claude to read it, along with a summary of that trip: its name, dates, each day's cities, and each item's type, name and times. It never includes the trip's costs, notes, addresses or confirmation numbers. The app asks before the first import, and nothing is sent unless you tap Read it. Itin doesn't store what you paste; only the items you choose to save are kept, like anything you add by hand.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
On your phone
So your trips open without a connection, the app keeps a copy of them on your phone. Signing out removes it. Anyone who can unlock your phone and open the app could see it.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app: Profile → Delete account. Before it's deleted, you choose for each trip you own that others are on whether to give it to one of them or delete it for everyone. Deleting your account removes your profile and photos, your hearts, stars and saved itins, the trips only you are on, and your place on other people's trips. A trip you give to someone stays, with its contents, as theirs. Photos other people added to a trip you delete stay in their accounts.
You can also delete a single trip you own from the trip's Customize sheet.
Children
Itin isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and its date, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
